There are many points that can be mentioned but the following are listed as a seed list to pick and choose from. An individual letter always carries more weight than a signature on a petition. If you need any help or more information please do not hesitate to leave a question for Keith Bell, of Crook Hall, on the space made available for comments in the online petition, leaving your e-mail address.
- The plan to build a Northern Relief road would be very damaging to the city by destroying an area of green belt, which helps to make Durham City unique.
- Noise pollution in a quiet rural area of the city.
- Destruction of ancient woodland.
- The impact on the tranquillity of Crook Hall Gardens.
- More pollution, including noise pollution in the city centre.
- The impact upon the Chapel and Kepier Gatehouse- Kepier Farm.
- The impact on the grounds of the DLI Museum.
- More congestion as another road enters the Milburngate area
- Whilst congestion may exist, creative alternatives need to be explored seriously rather than a cursory examination and rejection in favour of more road building.
- All the evidence which exists would suggest more roads create more traffic.
We are sure there are more issues to raise.
Don't let them build
